Mouse Methylcellulose Base and Complete Media

Both media contain components that have been optimized for mouse colony-forming cell (CFC) assays, which allow for the enumeration and morphology-based characterization of hematopoietic stem cell colonies in vitro. CFC assays are based on the ability of hematopoietic progenitors to proliferate and differentiate into colonies in a semi-solid medium in response to cytokine stimulation. Researchers can customize the new base media by adding cells and other culture supplements tailored to their specific research, while the complete media is specially formulated to identify burst-forming erythroid progenitors, colony-forming myeloid progenitors, and multi-potential progenitors of mouse origin. Mouse bone marrow cells were cultured in Mouse Methylcellulose Base Media (Catalog # HSC006) supplemented with recombinant mouse SCF (Catalog # 455-MC), recombinant mouse IL-3 (Catalog # 403-ML), recombinant mouse IL-6 (Catalog # 406-ML), and recombinant human Epo (Catalog # 287-TC).
